The Board swapped their business attire for hard hats and safety vests this week for an on-site walkthrough of the Oakwood Academy construction project. Walking through what will soon be the media center atrium and the gymnasium, the Board saw firsthand how the $50 million bond investment is taking shape.

The project remains on budget and on schedule, with interior finishes currently being applied. The group was particularly impressed by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the collaborative spaces, which are designed to maximize natural light.

"Standing in the future amphitheater, you can really feel how this space will serve the community," remarked board member Javier Rodríguez. "It’s one thing to see the drawings on a screen, but seeing the actual classrooms being painted makes the 2026 opening feel very real. We are grateful for the community’s continued support of this project."
