Image Cropping Tool

Instructions

  • Follow these simple steps to crop any image.

    1. Upload Your Image: Click the Upload Image button and select a picture from your computer. You can also drag and drop an image file directly onto the page.

    2. Choose a Size:

      • Presets: Click one of the preset buttons (like "Large Spotlight" or "Post Thumbnail") to automatically set the dimensions. This is the easiest way to get started.

      • Custom Size: If you need a specific size, you can type the Width and Height into the input boxes.

    3. Adjust the Crop: A dashed box will appear over your image. This is your crop area.

      • To move the box: Click inside the box and drag it to the perfect spot.

      • To resize the box: Click and drag from the corners or sides of the box to make it larger or smaller. The box will always keep the correct proportions for the size you selected.

    4. Process & Download:

      • Once you're happy with the position of the crop box, click the green Process Image button.

      • You will see a preview of your final, cropped image.

      • Click the blue Download Image button to save it to your computer.

      • Click the red Reset button to start over with a new image.

  • The tool is smart and will help you handle images of any size or shape. Here’s what to expect.

Scenario 1: Your image is very wide

This is the standard and most common way to use the tool. If your image is wider than the crop area (like a landscape photo), you will see the dashed crop box. Simply move or resize the box to select the part of the image you want to keep, as described in the "Getting Started" steps.

Scenario 2: Your image is very tall

If you upload an image that is taller than it is wide (like a portrait photo) and try to fit it into a wide frame, you'll see a warning message for an "Aspect Ratio Mismatch." You have two options:

    • Crop Mode (Default): This mode shows your entire tall image and lets you place the cropping box over it. This is useful if you only want to use a specific part of the tall image (e.g., just the person's face from a full-body photo).

    • Fit Mode: Click this button if you want to see the entire tall image without cutting anything off. The tool will fit the full height of your image in the frame and fill the empty space on the sides with a blurred version of your picture. This is great for ensuring nothing important gets cropped out.

Scenario 3: Your image is smaller than the target size

If you upload a small image and the target dimensions are very large, you will see a warning message that the "Image is Smaller Than Target."

In this case, the tool will not crop the image. Instead, it will place your original, small image in the center and create a blurred background to fill the rest of the space. This prevents your small image from becoming stretched and pixelated.
