Wondering how to make your social feed(s) look great? View tips and examples from our design pros below.
Add Text
Displaying 1 feed? Consider adding accompanying text that encourages your users to follow your account. Embedded feeds typically have a max width, and do not fill the full screen real estate on desktop. Placing your feed in a 2 column layout with accompanying text helps fill the space and makes one feed feel more anchored on the page.
Share the Space
Displaying 2 feeds? Utilize a 2 column layout, or consider a 3 column layout with accompanying text. If you do not wish to add social media related text next to the feeds, consider using the third column for content not related to the social feeds, such as quick links, or an accent photo. The key is to keep your content relatively consistent in height across the 3 columns.
Spice it Up
Remember, social media regions don’t have to be boring! Use a background color or background photo behind your social feeds to add visual interest or incorporate elements of your brand. Keep in mind that the homepage of your website is prime real estate. If you deem a social feed important enough to live there, you don’t want it to bring down the overall aesthetic of your site.
#Hashtags
Have a special hashtag that you use on social media? Promote it! Use the Component Intro field or a column next to your feed(s) to highlight your hashtag. Don’t have a special hashtag? Create one! A hashtag encourages your users and community members to actively engage with the district online, and can foster a sense of pride.
