After an extensive national search, the Board of Education has officially appointed Dr. Marcus Hayes as the inaugural Principal of Oakwood Academy. Dr. Hayes joins us with over 15 years of experience in elementary and middle school leadership, specifically focusing on STEM integration and collaborative learning environments.

During his introduction, Dr. Hayes shared his vision for creating a school culture that prioritizes both academic rigor and student well-being. The selection committee, which included teachers and parents, was particularly impressed by his plan to utilize Oakwood’s new learning gardens as "living laboratories."

School Board member Dr. Eleanor Vance shared her enthusiasm for the appointment, stating: "Dr. Hayes has the rare combination of visionary thinking and practical experience. He isn't just looking to open a building; he’s looking to build a community that will thrive from day one."
