The tool is smart and will help you handle images of any size or proportions. Here’s what to expect.
Scenario 1: Your image’s porportions do not match the target proportions
If you upload an image that is very wide or very tall, and the target dimensions are for different proportions, you'll see a warning message for an “Aspect Ratio Mismatch.” You have two options:
-
Crop Mode (Default): This mode places a cropping box over your image and allows you to drag it to position where to crop. This is useful if you only want to use a specific part of the original image (e.g., just the person's face from a full-body photo).
-
Fit Mode: Click this button if you want to see the entire image without cutting anything off. The tool will fit the full image in the frame and fill the empty space on the sides or top with a blurred version of your picture. This is great for ensuring nothing important gets cropped out.
Scenario 2: Your image is smaller than the target size
If you upload a small image and the target dimensions are very large, you will see a warning message that the “Image is Smaller Than Target.”
In this case, the tool will not crop the image. Instead, it will place your original, small image in the center and create a blurred background to fill the rest of the space. This prevents your small image from becoming stretched and pixelated.
